Touring Kayaks

Hurricane, Necky, Prijon, Old Town, Perception, Dagger.  But what do we recommend.  Well, Design is going to be some personal preference, but most everyone likes the hard chine design of Prijons and Neckys, and those that need to get use to them tend to not want to go back to a soft chine once they do get used to them.  These are kayaks that previous owners of them will talk new customers into there boat, because they love there boat so much.  These boats are decked out better and use better materials than there competition, especially prijon, there blow molded plastic is far stiffer and stronger than any other material out there.  Hurricanes glide and light weight and strong tracking ability is very desirable as well, gives you a glass like boat with the durability and price of a plastic.  Here is some of our most popular kayaks.

***Bobby's comments-  Where do I start, too much to list.  This is my favorite kayak, the htp gives this kayak fiberglass performance.  Tracking-great, maneuverability-great, hatch size-I put my six year old in these hatches and use them as his cockpit. Super glide and hull speed, great comfy seat, chines make it a great performer at most weight ranges.

The Capri Tour is a magical mix of a touring and recreational kayak. Glides and carves as your skills advance but tracks in a straight line as you learn. Long enough to carry its speed and track well. Short enough to handle with ease off the water. Light enough to be handled by junior and mature paddlers. The Capri is the essential boat in a minimal scale. The stiff HTP hull ensures remarkable glide in this 12’ performer. A true kayak with functional outfitting and an appropriately sized cockpit that both promotes leg contact and paddler control while being accommodating and comfortable for fishing, pond hopping and bay cruising. The pleasurable Capri includes an ergonomic seat, extra comfortable thighbraces and backbrace for extended expeditions. The hatch in the stern includes a bulkhead, which is great for day touring. Experience the magic of Capri!

*** Bobby's comment- This is a great kayak for those under 200#s that are looking for a great performing kayak that tracks great, has a good hull speed and are going to use it in rivers as well as lakes, maybe a little white water...  Super kayak for the weight and price.

LV stands for low volume, and the Zoar Sport LV is simply a lower volume kayak with all the winning characteristics of our larger Zoar Sport. If you’ve usually felt as if you were “up to your armpits” in most kayaks, because they’re far too big for you, then the LV is the answer. Still easy to paddle, still very stable and reassuring on the water, but scaled down for smaller folks who want a boat that truly fits their size. Stop wearing size 13 shoes when you’re really an eight! Try the Zoar Sport LV. Every kayak should be this approachable and easy to use.

Bobbys' comment-  Same as the Zoar sport, only for a smaller person

The Zoar Sport is easy to maneuver both on and off the water. Its 25" beam combined with the diamond hull design offer incredible stability making it a perfect choice for beginners, fishing enthusiasts, photographers and bird watchers. The Zoar Sport’s big cockpit is easy to get in or out of and is very roomy for “all day” comfort. Rubber hatches secure the sizeable cargo holds and waterproof bulkheads keep gear safe and dry. Affordable and always reassuringly solid on the water, the Zoar Sport offers a great introduction to the sport of kayak touring.

Bobbys' comments- Great kayak for those looking for a great versital kayak for open waters.  Paddlers in many size ranges love this kayak.  As with all neckys, design is not only for calm water, but for waves wind and weather as well as being a nice efficient design for quite water. great workmanship

The Eskia is a very comfortable and capable sea kayak. A big favorite in rental fleets, it has plenty of room in the large cockpit, even for big paddlers and size thirteen feet. Stability is very solid, resulting in an extremely reassuring ride for beginner kayakers, fishing enthusiasts, bird watchers and photographers. The diamond hull offers excellent tracking, making it easy to go where you want to. The Eskia also excels in wind or choppy seas. Ample storage capacity is accessed through two hatches. Recessed deck fittings and perimeter rescue lines are standard equipment.

Bobbys comments: A longer zoar sport.

The flowing lines of the Chatham series are inspired by classic British designs. The 16 is built to minimize windage, have great maneuverability and superb rough water performance. The hull has a very full chine, which provides great stability for a boat of this beam and quick response to edging and lean turns. Volume in the bow is carried well forward ensuring good resurfacing characteristics when riding through wind waves or punching surf. A drop skeg, three bulkheads and water resistant VCP hatches complete the package. This boat truly excels at coastal exploration through surf zones, rock gardens and convoluted rip tides. Polymer construction yields amazing durability and resiliency.

If you feel uncomfortably cramped in many of today’s tiny little performance boats and are tired
of watching the smaller paddlers have all the fun, then the Elaho HV is the answer. Built on a realistic scale for big paddlers, the HV retains all the sportiness, responsiveness and fun of its smaller siblings. There is no compromise in performance, just enough volume to comfortably fit bigger paddlers looking for good lean turns and solid edging. The HV is built for play and general sport touring. Get comfortable in a boat that has a “real world” good fit. The polymer construction offers incredible ruggedness at a great price.

The Elaho is a low profile touring playboat. Its multi-chine diamond hull and rocker combine to make a very playful and maneuverable kayak. Extremely smooth edge to edge, the Elaho
responds beautifully to lean turns and edging. The bow and stern hatches feature flush covers, effectively eliminating kick–up from spray across the deck and providing a clean, integrated
look to the boat. There’s even a convenient day hatch behind the seat. The snug fit of the cockpit, positive thigh braces and adjustable backband promote excellent boat control. The low stern deck makes lying back for rolls very comfortable. Polymer construction makes this boat incredibly durable.
