sun protection

I am out on the water quite a bit, which used to result in sun burns. It doesnt matter how much I hear about the negative association with not wearing any sunscrean, personacannot get myself into the habbit of applying and reapplying suntan lotion. 8 years ago, when I used to teach two, four hour classes on Sundays, I started wearing a simple hat from Tilly.  They seemed over priced to me, ranging from $65 to $75 I think at the time, but I noticed that when I wore sunscreen with a baseball cap on and wore sunscreen I got burned.  When I wore just my Tilly hat I would not get burned.  And being that after 8 years I am still wearing the same hat, actually as I am writting this artical I would say money well spent.  Fast forward to today I combine sunscreen with my  Tilly hat, and for my arms and hand I where a nice pair of sun protected gloves by NRS as well as the NRS Foundation shirt, both pictured below.  At High Trails, we carry these three bits of clothing which has been providing me with some great sun protection.

Extra lightweight, loose-fitting, soft against the skin and extremely comfortable. The NRS Foundation is one rock-solid base layer, with even more protection in our long-sleeved version.

The NRS Boaters Gloves are ideal for any type of boating. Lightweight backs, tough palms and three-quarter fingers. Great protection from sun and blisters and excellent finger dexterity.
