General Recreation
We carry General rec kayaks from
Dagger Old Town Perception Necky Hurricane Prijon
There is a lot to choose from in the Recreation line of kayaks, so how do you choose. Let me give some advice on choosing, based on personal experiance from myself, and what coustomers tell me they like.
These are not in any order
Necky- Big cockpit, very comphtorable seat, the best (strongest) rotomolded plastic we have seen on this type of kayak. With its hard chines and dolphin bow and stern, this is one of few recreational kayaks that can go into some harder waves and winds. Most recreational kayaks take into account speed versis stability, comphort versis performance. Neckys Rec line is the only line that we've seen that is exelent on its flatwater ability, but is also exelent on ruff water as well.
Prijon- They only have one Rec boat, well, its more of a scalled down touring kayak. Some people will like the extra control and dryer ride of the smaller cockpit (it is a touring cockpit). Most will appritiate its super speed and handleing (it performs like a touring kayak) All will appriciate its light weight (42lbs) and having the stiffest and strongest material in the industry. But for the people that want a bigger cockpit, more initial stability and a more comphy seat, look at the Neckys.
Hurricane- lets just say Hurricane=fiberglass looks, fiberglass feel, fiberglass stiffness, fiberglass weight, fiberglass performance, plastic duribility, plastic price. There design is great for flat water, very efficient, roomy cockpit. For those people wanting a glass boat without the glass price.
here are the boats in the recreational line I recommend. Not to say that others are making bad boats, I just feel that these companies have put exceptional quality, and design properties into a boat that they are compeating very well in price.
